When the second wave of spring flowers arrives I know that spring is here no matter what oddities Michigan weather deals us. Early in the season we have snowdrops. Now there’s a blanket of color on both sides of the house. All are small bulbs that have naturalized… things my mother planted I don’t know how many years ago. They always make me smile and think of the hours and hours she spent in the garden creating floral art to welcome people to our home. An art teacher by training she put her talent and her eye together to make beautiful gardens. When I see the results of her hard work live on it warms my heart!
