Pruners and Clippers for Every Garden Task
I’ve been pruning for most of 60 years. Dad taught me at an early age when he had young cherry trees to do some simple pruning on that he didn’t want to waste staff time on.
Since the 1980’s Scott and I have been pruning in the vineyard and we’ve experimented with several Fiskars pruners for those tasks, including the F-2 and the F-7 that I wrote about earlier this year.
For quick cuts in the garden though I’ve found a snip that I love. Pictured below is the Corona Long Straight Snip - AG 4930SS. It’s great for running out to cut a bouquet for the dinner table but it’s also good for many other, heavier duty cutting tasks. I used it almost exclusively this summer to deadhead and to do quick snips when shaping a shrub. The blade are sharp, so like all pruners it needs to be used with care and respect, but it does a great job!
Treat yourself or the gardener on your gift list with a pair of these snips. They’d make a great stocking stuffer that will be appreciated and much used.
